Hi, anyone know if its possible to take the engine out the top of a Astra H? Looks like it'd be easier than dropping the subframe.
Thanks

Can take them out though the top easily if you take the rad out and remove the slam panel and crash bar

OK, thanks. That sounds easier than dropping the subframe.

i think the are both the same really subframe is slightly harder as you need to disconnect the steering rack and such whereas through the top its just the rad

I'm goin for it out the top now, but is it possible to leave the box in place and just split the block from it? Or is it easier to take the lot out and swap the box over out of the car? Thanks.

Id say it would be easier to take the box out with the engine then swap the box while the engine is out of the car

Any tips for gettin bottom ball joints out? They get so far then won't budge.
hammer a screwdriver in the slot to open the join up then should pop straight out
