Cheers lads
Gunk worked great for me, the foam rather than the spray.
brought my washer bottle and header tank up like new
But so would p1ss if you used enough.
Gunk is trash for cleaning engines and boxes.

Clean it back and apply this stuff....

I used it on my shell and it dries hard so dust & crap does not stick to it. Get it in the aerosol can.
i have used clear waxoil, i threw it on an engine bay, not for looks but protection.
4 years on it is still sticky and hasn't flaked...pleased.

This.
And its alot cheaper.
find a local haulage company & see if they can recommend the nearest MOT steam cleaning bloke, then pay him a few quid to do it properly with his kit. it will leave the engine etc spotless

another vot for this, i buy this in 5 litre cans for about £15 from my local parts place
really good stuff and also good for cleaning engine parts
