View Full Version : petrol combo van...
ive seen a petrol/lpg version of the combo van i want to buy, is anyone up to date on the newer vauxhall 1.6 petrol engine, are they a pile of dogs muck?, and can i drive it into london? diesel is more than petrol these days, would it be worth it?....
I dont know anything about the petrol engines personally, but wont the petrol engines be lacking the torque for hoarding around all the cr4p you got in the back? So it would be rubbish on fuel, just a theory that i have come up with lol, what you using the van for? And what year/model/engine sizes?
53 plate, 1.6 petrol and lpg, and its to carry valeting gear
Z16se scrap, my guess is the lpg won't work either. Just get a diesel one.
Yea just looked and yea its got those z16se's as John said. Utter tosh engines lol
See will f's combo wip, he xe'd his lol
When you look for a vehicle, go on the lez website & enter the reg into the compliance checker.

I love these engines - they are the best! lol
TBH - they are no worse than any other derivative of teh same age - although at 82 bhp they arent the most powerful.
The stem seals are made of chocolate and the ECUs go down for fun. On the plus side - the conversion to z20let is much easier as the tank etc doesnt need swapping (unlike a diesel!)
I had a T plate 1.7D non turbo Isuzu lumped combo. Awesome piece of kit. Could of got a newer one but a vauxhall mechanic friend put me off after the tales of the newer Vauxhall engined combos.

But to drive, the later ones are streets ahead. They are like cars, whereas the combo b is deffo a van! lol
