View Full Version : Clutch
Hi
I need to replace the clutch assembly on my Nova 1.5 td. Does anyone know if I can replace it without taking the gearbox out?
have a look in the haynes manual it tells you everything you need to know
u can definitely replace the clutch and pressure plate on a small block petrol without taking the box off, not the flywheel tho. so id *guess* it would be the same on the diesel too.

have you got a removable inspection panel on the front/lower part of the bell housing? if so, then yes, of not, then no. simples

Take end plate off gearbox under near side wheel arch, remove plate under the car that covers the flywheel\clutch assembly, loosen bolts on pressure plate, withdraw spindle on gearbox side where plate was removed. Reverse to out back together.
You can get clips that hold the pressure plate and clutch plate together while you bolt it back on.
Thanks guys that's a great help
