Do the standard 2.0 16v brakes fit? Are they any better than the astra 2.0 16v brakes?

They are probably the same as the 16v astra brakes. I think some might have been fitted with the v6 style ones....

2ltr vectras have 288mm(or maybe 284mm or similar)and have bigger pistons in the calipers than the astra 16 v stuff, they are not the same as cav/cali turbo ones either.
They use 5stud discs so need redrilling to 4 stud and a ring machining to hold them central while you fit them.
They will give MUCH better brakes than astra 16v stuff as they are 30mm(ish) bigger diameter and have bigger calipers, you will need a minimum of 15" wheels to fit.
Only 1.6 vectras and diesels use the 256mm astra 16v setup.
I fit vectra 2ltr calipers and discs to a mates car,i redrilled standard discs and made up the rings to centre the discs at work, the brakes were feckin superb!! Much better than the astra16v stuff it replaced.
If you have access to a lathe and other machinery it is dead easy,or you can buy the discs from v-tuning to fit 4stud cars for ?100 a pair

Just checked on TIS.
the astra 16v front brakes are 4 stud,256mm x 24mm discs with 52mm pistons in the calipers.
The vectra 20ltrs have 5 stud,288mm x 25mm discs with 57mm pistons in the calipers.
Cav turbo and 2.5V6s are 5 stud,284mm x 24mm with 54mm pistons.
So the vectra 288's are the ones to go for!
The ones i fit to my mates corsa were off a vectra 2ltr 16v estate, and cost ?50 for the calipers and used discs from the scrappy, but he did think they were astra 16v stuff.
