Radio turns off when turn hids on ??

Just fitted some hids, when i turn them on via the headlight switch my cd player decides to turn itself off, when i turn the lights off the cd player comes on.

anyone have any ideas? the hid's are ground correctly and all wired up correctly
i can only think that the cd player is wired up wrong or is shorting out somewhere

yea seems to be, its a halfords advanced and doesnt look that old, i have a spare so may try that out of interest

Just viewed your started threads and seen you've had to rewire the headunit. Check you haven't used the wire for the headlight dim switch (dims the light on the headunit) as a live to power the stereo.
