Possible rare nova

Ive bought a nova which ive been told is rare due to it having a black dash door cards and plastic trims. The seats have pinstripping in them. Could anyone shed anylight on this please its a C reg mk1 and doesnt look anything special. Thanks in advance

As far as im aware i doubt its been painted due to an old lady owning the car and it been sat in a field as a dog kennel. Hopefully collecting it next saturday when she makes a way out for it will get pics asap

The components for a black RHD Mk1 dash are listed on EPC but the dash is not iirc. I have seen a black RHD ashtray at the VBOA spares day a few years back.
They did a black mk1 dash on LHD Opel Corsa A's, I think it was fitted to a Steffi Graf edition or similar.

Cheers for all the info. Ive only bought the car to donor mine for interior trim so didnt bother looking much but my mate with me just kept saying about the dash so thought id check. If it is the real deal is it a shame to strip for parts or would anyone be interested in the whole car?

Black mk1 dashes are real a mate of mine had a 1ltr saloon when i was in college about 10 years ago and it was fitted with a black dash and i remember thinking it was strange as i had seen only brown grey and green dashes/ interiors in mk1 novas.

No, the black dash was not in the Steffi edition, it was in the Moda. But the Moda was a special model in 1989, so it can't be a C reg

Is there anything on the car saying what model it is? As i'm guessing they won't have the V5 for it?

Im awaiting the logbook the owner is old and abit crazy. I personally dont think its to far gone but i doubt you could make a show car out of it

reshell imo, take the interior out and one piece bumpers and reshell onto another mk1 shell, plenty of decent shells floating about

the seats are just mk1 base model.....


what you need to find is the 2 plates on the front slam panel.. the vin plate & the one with the build codes.. then duick's list will tell you what it should be..

i don't think the bumpers are black, just grey but not sun faded, i think the dash is really disgusting looking & a good washing off to reveal the colour might be a good idea, or just the ash tray or a switch blank need cleaning up & the part no. finding
