Boost spiking

Hi, I have just built a custom exhaust for my 1.5td sx, it has one silencer and thats it (no cat). It used to boost to 0.6/0.7 bar with the standard system. Now it boosts (alot quicker :)) to around 1.0 bar, holds at 1.0 bar for a second before dropping to a constant 0.8 bar. (under flat out acceleration).

How do i over come this?

Not 100% sure if diesels work in the same way as petrols but the actuator will need winding out on the waste gate

fit a decent boost controller?

it will spike in cold weather too don't forget

Ive got a boost controller but to be honest, its only a cheap one so may invest in a better one. Mind you it is very cold here at the moment (-4C) so may wait until its a bit warmer if temperature has much of an impact... Thank you =]
