i think that is a mrk 2 all the j regs novas my mate has had have been mrk 2 like this one

As far as i know they did, if it aint got a sunroof its probably a re-shell.

I bought a white GTE in July 2010 and SORNed it. When i put it on the road in Jan 2011 the MOT tester said its rotten scrap it but i couldnt do that to a GTE so i had loads of welding done got it on the road all original apart from an ashley exhaust, even had all the original hubcaps on and standard suspension and i was well pleased with it then someone run into the back of it and done this to it :cry:

The driver of the vehicle who caused it said dont worry about the car at least your ok, i said dont worry about the car its a nova GTE you t**t do you know how rare these are :mad:

Id say it looks fixable, new back pannel,bit of pannel beating on the floor, new tailgate and lights (bumper may pop back into shape with a heat gun)

A friend of my dads quoted £600 to do the work, thats before i've sourced tailgate, lights, bumper extra. I looked on the bay and there was one on there for £700 in better condition than mine. All the welding id had done before the crash was on the rear as well. I wanted to keep the car whole but i bought a mark 1 redtop to replace it and i've started nicking bits off it to put on that. I know if i pay to repair it and sell it i'll lose money and it might put people off being a cat c. If i sell it as it is the person who buys it will probably break it anyway.

I also know of a mk1 gte on a j plate, totally std and original, has been sat in a garden for over ten years, its fooked, offered the owner cash for it a few years back and said he would get round to fixing it "one day" Boy is a bit of a gimp tbh.

you maight see the odd E reg GTE with no sunroof, rumour has it there was a run of non sunroof cars for homoligation. ive only ever see a few picture on the forum of these though, there are ways of telling a GTE shell from a normal 3 door shell.

There is a standard one in Calypso Red on a driveway a few streets away from me. Old boy in a bungalow who when i knocked the door said he would get round to putting it on the road one day for his grandson.

That was years ago though and its still hasnt moved.

All of that, plus the 60/40 split rear seat bracket (compared with poverty spec 3dr anyway). You probably knew that.

I was always under the impression that it is known that some GTE's didn't have a sunroof? Was it only a run of homoligation cars as bazil says?
