Will I notice much difference if I buy a hdmi lead to connect my xbox to my tv over the standard lead and do I need a expensive one or will a cheap lead do the same job?

I only ask as its not a bad picture as it is, but if its make a massive difference to watching films and playing games I will shoot out and get one tomorrow lol

As with all connectors/connections the better cable and connectors the better the picture/sound.

If your happy with the picture now, leave it, but if you want to go HDMI get the best cable (with gold connectors) you can afford.

the best results come from the orginal component cable the five colours

Does the hdmi cable make the std 5 prong cable obsolete

Not strictly true.
HDMi cables are digital, they either work or they dont. Unlike analogue when connections etc do affect quality.
I use £2 hdmi cables on all my stuff :thumb:

As for the original question, yes you will see the difference.

Also, gold ends are pointless unless the core is gold

Also bear in mind that once the HDMI connector goes into the device its then got a lead free solder joint to pass through, then into the cheapest copper they could lay their hands on..... So really the cable even a bit of mains cable is better than the internal electronics lol
