thermostat

i have just bought a new thermostat from courtenay but it is different to the nova one, it seems to be longer and bigger in diameter, and has no housing... i rang courtenay and they said the housing comes off the old one and is used for the new one.. i have tried and tried and cant get it off or see how the new one will go in as its bigger! have they sent me the wrong part????

I dont understand? The thermostat housing is the cylinder head isn't it? If it is a different diameter how will it fit?? :?

They mite av sent u the wrong 1 by the looks of it!
Give em a ring with the part numbers at hand!
