well folks i took a bad turn today and purchased a non-running car from gumtree,

not only does it have an immobiliser fault, but its FRENCH:eek:

That looks smart!

Ive got a mate who unlocks 106 gti / saxo vts ecu's, he said he might start selling them, ill give you a shout it he does

cheers mate, there is a place local that quoted me £80 to unlock it so once a can afford it a will get the car dropped off at them.

think a was looking at buying this! i like them in black, driving a silver vts just now.

whats wrong with it mate?

also am sure a was told my ecu was unlocked when i got the car, is there anyway you can tell? i know its quite quick

It's really clean mate, the guy said it's got an immobiliser fault, ave checked everything else and it all seems good.
For the price a got it for a really can't loose, if it turns out to be buggered a can break it and still make more than a paid for it

As for the ecu, they normally remove one of the pins and bridge it inside the ecu, wouldn't want to chance it checking incase it's not as it will lock your ecu and cost you to get it done.
They were really common for the ecu locking, it basically cuts the spark so it still turns over but won't start.

It was more the fact that a was elsewhere in the country and got a recovery truck to collect it without even looking at it,
It was one of those impulse buys:)

I really dont like saxo's, would have a 106 over them any day (yes i know there essentially the same) but that does look a very clean example. Most are knackered and rotten to the core. I wouldnt be surprised if they start going up in value in the next few years.

I know what you mean mate, ,I wouldn't mind a 106 rallye.
