Having just got back in to Nova ownership after a 6 year break, i've bought a 1988 1.3sr.

While it currently has steel wheels fitted, I would prefer to fit the original Vauxhal 3 spokes.

Would this vehcile have had the 3 spoke alloys fitted as standard when new, as most of the Nova sr I see have them fitted, including archive images from the original brochures?

Many thanks.

They seem to be the standard steel rims and grey trims that came on the SR as standard. Not many left like that now!!!

Alloys were not standard.
I am curious which Nova you have as I have been compiling a list of the 109 (approx) Mark 1 nova SR still licenced

Just buy them as there cheap enough, if you like them keep them on. I would advise keeping hold of the steelies so that it can be put back to its original state.

I've just been advised that I may need to get some news bolts for the alloys as the ones on the steel wheel might not be suitable.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case or if i'll be able to use the current bolts of the steel wheels?

I'm also planning to get some locking wheel nuts to be on the safe side; what taper do they need to be for Vauxhall alloys?

NB the alloys are standard vauxhall three spoke type.

Cheers

My first sr had steel wheels with the black trims then replaced them with the sr three spokes and used the same bolts.

I think mark1 SR's had steel wheels as standard or you could have the alloys as an optional extra.

Is 60 degress the correct taper for the bolts, as I want to get some locking ones so I can try and keep hold of the alloys?!

Cheers

Yep although a decent motor factors will be able to supply the correct bolts for the car.

Alloys make an SR look miles better btw :)
