Greetings everyone,

I'm trying to track down a Nova SRi that a friend of mine owned about 12 years ago, possibly with the intention of buying it back if it's still alive. Bit of a mid life crisis. lol

It was quite distinctive and I'm pretty sure you'd know it if you'd have seen it.

It started off I believe as a blue SRi as it had all the blue SRi interior etc. In the mid 90's it was given a full motorsport look, it had a full white respray, with yellow detailing. The grille, wing mirrors and rear spoiler were all painted yellow as was the line in the bumpers. It also had white vauxhall motorsport wheels fitted and yellow Vauxhall motorsport badges. In it's day it was a lovely example and nicknamed 'the egg car.' It sat very low and was nicely tuned.

My friend bought it in 1998 from Thurlby Motors near Alford in Lincolnshire, after the guy who built it in Skegness part ex'd it for a Vectra GSi. My friend owned it until 2000 when he wrongly part ex'd it for a BMW at a dealership in Peterborough.

If anyone has knowledge of this car, knows if its dead or alive, what happened to it, has pictures then please post. Better still if it's alive and well on this forum I'd be really happy to hear.

The registration was something similar to J180 JCT.

Thanks in advance.

;)

Just to add it from doing a bit of research it was touring car themed and had the yellow touring car badges on the sides and rear.

Not sure what you mean Gary? The only pic I can find on the forum remotely similar is this:

But the one I'm after was a MK2 or facelift if that's what you call it. It didn't have all the livery all over it though, just the paint job. Think the last 3 of the reg was definately JCD not JCT.

Vaguely remember novarally owning something similar at one point, might be worth asking him

Which means it's probably in about a million parts now. Unless it was good enough to sell on.

Thanks for the replies, TBH I'm suspecting it probably is dead but if you don't ask you never know. I've emailed novarally.

Yearh, I've done that and had the same sucess as you. Tried a few different combinations as well. If a car has been wrote off or scrapped and properly declared through the DVLA then the details won't show - I know this because I've tried some of my old cars which I 'propery' scrapped through an approved breakers yard. Unfortunately I can't confirm if the reg number is correct but I think the Nova is probably is dead.

Novarally has replied via email and he hasn't had the car nor has any knowledge of it unfortunately.

even if the cars been scraped etc it will still be logged and accessible through that DVLA vehcile check. A couple of my novas were scrped and theyre all on there.

Not sure what you mean Gary? .

It was a mk2 nova, and the front bumper was a modified vectra b phase1 gsi bumper (but fitted upside down, so the side vents were at the top of the bumper rather than the bottom)
