Does one HAVE to use iTunes to transfer music to and from an iPood shuffle?

I got given a 2gb one free from work the other day. Seems I have to use itunes, so downloaded it and tried it and OMFG what a ballache of a program it is to use. I've tried iShuffle, but that doesn't seem to work.

If I'm forced to use itunes, I'm going to chuck the thing away or just use it as a tiny memory stick lol

It's not that bad, unless you are blind and using an ancient computermabob lol.

I vaguely remember something beginning with ad for non iTunes iPod use.

Balls, it took me ages to put some music on it, where as my phone I just plug in > drag drop > eject, win lol. None of this stupid having to go into itunes and sync stuff and all that crap lol

might be able to use winamp to make a playlist and copy onto the device...google is your friend here

err... I've transferred stuff from my bros iPhone to my laptop (windows) by just plugging it in. Never had an iPod but Apple stuff is normally the same shizzle (I'd have thought). Try it (if you haven't already)

No, go to http://www.getsharepod.com (http://www.getsharepod.com/)

You just drop the .exe on your iPod so it's always there and run it, hey presto nice and simple interface and easy to backup.

If you use Spotify you can sync your music from there to the iPod, works for everything Andriod, iPhone ETC. If you don't down side is you have to pay monthly for it.

Well I have an iPod touch and an iPhone 4S, iTunes has never given me any problems... I find it rather simple and easy to use tbf...

A lot of reports, and that if you put itunes on a comp with no internet connection it goes nuts and wont do half the stuff it's ment too..

Mp3 players should all be drag and drop...

Itunes is an online music/app purchasing tool, so yeah I can see how it would go mad lol

You can drag and drop music onto an ipod (via itunes).

I have tried loads though lol Seems the 4th Gen iPood breaks most aftermarket copiers.

Don't want itunes as the first thing it did was 'scanned' my entire 'library' - i.e. my whole computer - for music and now I have a whole shedload of junk tunes like sound effects from windows programs and music from games folders etc all in my music listings. It also keeps trying to sync the iPood with whatever music it thinks I want to use based on a range of random genres - 90's? Classical? WFT?!

Oh and it takes an age to load. And runs a bunch of fat services in the background lol

Anyone wanna buy an iPood? lol

Eh? Sharepod works on the iPhone 4S ('s) in our office. If it works on them it definately works on the iPod.

Nope. Apparently its a 4th Gen iPood shuffle thing, I've seen a few comments online now which say Sharepod fails on it.

Panic over though, Winamp can do it. Not quite as slim as I'd like but certainly a lot faster and less memory hungry than itunes lol
