How the hell do you get the altenator out from the back of a X25XE fitted in a vectra GSI ? I am doing a timing belt so timing belt, tensioners, engine stabilizer, aux belt and tensioner are all removed.

The altenator is disconnected and bolts removed, but can't figure out how to fit it out from behind the engine, do I have to remove the engine mount and lower the engine?

Aye your no kiddin, I'll be removing the mount later to replace the aux belt so I'll do it all in one. I'll also be trimming the belt cover so I don't have to remove the aux belt tensioner.

Cheers mate :)

Take the drive shaft out and a bit of waggling and it will come out centre shaft needs removing too also disconnect down pipe just selling the engine won't give the room due to subframe garage told me you had to drop subframe but with the shaft out and exhaust undone it came out

I'll be getting a good new one with a nice warranty, I don't fancy doing again anytime soon if a second hand one packed up
