Could anyone tell me the differences in the nova tailgates?

I've just got a h reg mk1 sr that's been tapped at the rear so is going to need a tailgate .

If I remember correctly my last gte had no grab handle and a round lock but my j reg van had a square lock and grab handle which looks the same as this sr has. Hope that makes sense.

The tailgate with no grab handle was the very very early type and arent overly common these days, think they were only around till about D reg (1987) as my D reg antibes has one, but my E reg SR did not!

Your tailgate would obviously be the later type with the grab handle and the square push button lock:thumb:

Round lock with no grab handle is an early style, later mk1s and all mk2s had the plastic grab handle shape.

Both will physically fit, grab handle one will be easier and cheaper to get hold of, so it's up to you which you replace it with depending on which you like the look of more!

Thankyou guys. Yes my gte was reshelled with a b reg shell so that explains it.
just put a posted in parts wanted and didn't want to start asking advise in there .

Looks like its been pulled by pc plod for Wheels sticking out further than the arches but rather than replace the wheels stuck some arches on. Lol.
