Dude I've been in the same boat, strip the Corsa and weigh it in after you've got what parts you need, that should help motivation.
Try keeping in mind the finished picture that helps me

Pay for fuel and done :p I have too much time and not enough money to do anything with atm! Also said similar to Burgo when he gets his loon underway :p
Having your own place should give you more motivation, presuming the cars are at the new house

Might take you up on it..

Well I spent £800 on the garage getting the roof redone, it needs all the walls an floor sealing painting first before I kit it out with new lights and work bench/space etc, at the moment both novas are at my parents, and the corsa is on there garden.

5lt tub of bright white paint, bang it on the walls, grey the floor. That will brighten it up. Do the lights and that at the later date. Then you can have the car in there, close = more motivation
Well if you sell it you'll only regret it! Crack on I say! Get the engine out the corsa and scrap the rest, once you get started you'll get the motivation back.
If you decide to sell though can I have 1st refusal?

Benn, not quite as simple as that, due to the roof leaking it effected alot of the mortar between the bricks, so Ive got to scrape out the loose an re point a bit before sealing it all and painting.
Steve, you can have two lol course mate.
Ah, can you do that? If not time to learn, you'll save a huge chunk of money. Sealing? Never sealed anything in my life... Paint sticks to everything..lol
scott.parker
27-05-13, 10:46 AM
Lol yeah ill point it my self, as for sealing it, you can either buy extreme forms of brick sealant or do as I plan, pva glue mixed in with a bit off water to thin it down, if I don't seal the bricks the damp will take the paint off in no time.

Right, so im no longer keeping this, I've not made a for sale add yet, as I will need to do a few things, get some stored stuff out of it to do that, but if anyone is interested please pm me, once I clean it out and sort it will place it on ebay if no one on here has offered to buy it.

Seems such a shame to sell it! I wish I didn't have mine so I could snap this up. Are you bringing it to retro rides gathering if you still have it?
scott.parker
18-07-13, 09:41 AM
It's not road worthy Simon, I can't justify having two modified novas, and now we're home owners being realistic I can't afford to build it..
I know I'll probably regret it at some point, but right now if I'm to keep the yellow hatch and a daily then this has to go.

Ignore me, I'm being a moron! I forgot you had this and just presumed it was the Yellow hatch build thread browsing on my phone just after waking up! lol.

The hatch deserves the attention rather than doing another Scott. I think you got it right selling it on.
Nice to catch up at Billing.:thumb:

Yeah, just been thinking, I can really put my attention into the instead of this, as I was planning a pretty in depth build, but I've just thought, I may as well do it all to the hatch now...
And, you need to re paint your let to its original colour, and engine, so if you buy this you can put your let in it lol

Well initial interest was strong, but it looks as if the market for saloons is dead, all I'm getting offered is £200!..
Surely it's worth more?
Looks like I've got to spend money to sell it for a loss, great!...
I mean, I'd rather grass track it and burn it then sell for £200 lol
Wish I never bought it now.
£200!? That's laughable. (Lol)
I was of the opinion that saloons were more popular than ever?

Scott, where is it advertised? I have a mate that may be interested, I also may be interested. Would be great to tow my saloon track car with!
There is a B reg 1.0 2dr saloon on ebay with a years ticket and pretty tidy (from the pictures) for £500 buy it now. I was surprised how cheap it was, as I thought 2dr loons were desirable.
I would of thought £500 plus tbh.

That it is! If it was closer and I wasn't so busy it would be on my drive!!!

Contemplating breaking this for parts etc, as every time someone is interested they soon loose intrest without it being t&t'd.
But i would only break it if i could get minimum £500/600 back out of it, as i paid more then that, but no one wants these now for more then that lol
Why don't you mot it? For the sake of what £25-45 (what a mot costs around here) then you can sell it easily.

It wont pass with the rear rusty bits, i would need to fix it up.. and them mot prices are cheap its £55 here!
How bad are they? What bits?

Im Pretty sure there should be pics in the thread? Its both parts on either side the bottom of the rear arch, common on loons.

Ah ok found the pics, does need a lil love the the sill ends.
The bits at the front of the arch look solid enough and the bits at the back are not a mot fail. Can only advise for it

Holed inner and out will fail... Close to the rear beam mount.

I meant, the end of the sill where its holed is that is only a few inches to the rear beam floor mount.
Those bits have had patches according to the pics on the first page hence assuming you meant the rear of the arch

Is this for sale Scott?

I also assumed bottom of arch was referring to the sill part. Lol

Project is now no longer, so after all the ideas and money wasted i sold the saloon, i didn't really want to, but glad i have now.
So i sold it via ebay,
(for more money then i had it on here for)
i advertised it on here and Facebook, Facebook had the most time wasting tits, closely followed by here, then ebay was pretty straight forward..
I advertised it well so it eliminated any need for constant messages etc, the winning bidder collected it on Sunday.
He said he might join the forum for info and parts, no idea of its fate/future plans, all i can say its gone to Lincoln.
Good bye loon..... :)

I was impressed, seeing as it hadn't drove more then 10ft in a year it pulled really well under its own power onto the trailer, cracking little pushrod engine.
Good job, no real need for it as the hatch is your main one...

LOL @ the ability of a pushrod engine being measured by having enough power to get onto a trailer lol
Good to see it got sold though Scott. eBay does get stuff sold, its just the fee's are a killer. Especially on something £500+

Adam, i was impressed with the little engine for its reliability lol and considering it had not been drove more then 10ft for over a year, and it was running on fumes, i personally didn't think it would of done it so easy, even my 1200 carb is sometimes a bit funny till warm, or right choke mix etc.
As for fees, well...

always been curious to selling a car on ebay
is it a large listing fee then selling fee %?
