dang!

I've had a rear wheel bearing jam up on me too, luckily in a 30 zone & I had heard it squealing a few miles prior. It just goes to show you shouldnt risk these things. Every Nova I have ever purchased (except 1) has had humming rear bearings.

Not surprised it gave up, as the poor thing spends most of its life at 90+ and the lack of maintenance a la Riggy lol

Saw this on fb. Holy fook first came to mind lol

How it didnt do more damage than it did is amazing  It must have just popped off and flung itself out the way of the car.

What did it feel like when it happened? Like a wheel had come off? lol

You've been lucky;)

I experienced something similar when my off side rear wheel bearing siezed up on my Range Rocer classic at 70mph, was a little scary when the wheel stopped going round:eek::eek:

Had a similar thing happen on the loon a few years ago but mine was the stub axle that failed wheel got wedged under barrier in the central reservation didn't half take some kicking to get out was on m18 at the time, and I was surprised also how stable they are on 3 wheels, was same wheel I lost drivers rear

Split pin worked thenlol

Were you aware there was a bearing failing, surely you must have heard it?

Never seen a failure that bad, and minimal damage!

Many years ago one on my dad's trucks experienced bearing failure, the rh drive axle wheels came out on the half shaft, luckily the half shaft remained in the axle, came out a 2 ft:eek:

I remember being sent down the road (quiet country lane) to pick up the rollers bearings off the roadlol

I must have been about 8
