Well, not a Nova but it is retro!
If having a Nova was not reliving my youth enough these will help a little more lol
Don't know why but I just stumbled accross the Tamiya model again and remembered what fun they were to build and drive. I saw a mega build of a re-release Top Force(A model originally from the early nineties) with all the period Hop-Up optins and decided I wanted to have a go.
Well I got the Top-Force kit BNIB for a good price off the bay and Edd kindly went and picked it up for me. Whilst he was there he also picked up a BNIB re-release Dyna Storm kit that I bought off the same seller for a cracking price :d

Whilst I was waiting for the kits I kind of went a little mad, like a kid in a sweet shop I spent a small fortune on a load of Hop-Up options for the TF:roll:. I have collected most of the Hop-Up parts but there is a few more parts I need. I still need to get a torque splitter which is proving difficult, some alloy uprights and steering knuckles and a carbon fibre chassis set:d
Edd kindly posted them upto me and I got them today safely, just need to decide which to start first!
I think the Dyna Storm will be built first as it is fairly well specced and does not need any Hop-Ups and I can't start the Top Force until I have all the parts
So here they are, its like christmas 1990 all over again lol

I started with a Grasshopper in the mid to late 80's then I had a Michelin Pilot Escort Cosworth with all the Hop-Ups in the early nineties. I cannot remember selling the Cossy but I cannot find it anywhere :(

Christmas 1990 was the year I had a Tamiya MudBlaster (subaru Brat) Monster Truck to join my Mardave Meteor from the year before. Happy days, that christmas was all about my Dad's new Led Zep CD & building that thing.

Nice kits there Rich.

Tamiyas are fragile, but most realistic & detailed in the bodies.

I still have my tamiya Michelin escort cosworth, I got it in 1993 with my brother and prick of a so called dad and he cut out the body shell and chopped half the kit off. At the time I was mega pissed off lol

Got some more parts delivered for the Top Force, going to get that one built first with all the Hop-Up's. Just waiting on some alloy front & rear hubs & carriers, when they arrive I will crack on.

Carbon goodies including a very rare Hop-Up chassis top plate and an uprated stronger gearbox bottom casing(Original plastic ones are prone to accident damage)

The Hulux is being re-released too!

Novasport
25-02-12, 11:22 AM
It's all about the vintage cars though, the re-releases sell well but the originals still demand a massive premium.

re-releases of the hilux will be different

iirc the vintage one was mostly metal, running gear etc
