If you get your car MOT'd at one place and you don't have time to fix the things the things it failed on within the 10 day limit do you have to go an get it tested at the same place or can you go somewhere else?

you can go wherever you want but it will get a full re-test

Also all the fails will be already stored on the database when another garage keys in your reg

Ye you can go wherever but make sure it's a legit one because vosa tend to come and view cars that are having a test somewhere else after failing at a different place.

Impression I get from that info is - Has to go back to the original station for a retest - if it goes elsewhere it will be subject to a full test

I always thought this was the case.

would be a full re-test where ever you take it, but surely it would pass if you have done the work?

only problem is if you take it else where they may find more faults that the first tester was lenient on or they'll say more is wrong being money grabbers.

the mot station you have it tested at you have 10 working days
to go back for the retest, if it fails again there its another full test.
you can only go back to the same mot station for the retest
on the items it has failed on.

but there is nothing to stop you going somewhere else for another
full test, but this garage can not retest another garages failed items

hope this makes sense
