So the question is..

On a hatch how wide can you go banded wise before your going to have major issues
And how wide can you go on a Saloon before the lip is going to be sticking to far out the arch, and fouling etc (EG for MOT fail reasons also.)

Any knowledge and help answering these would be much appreciated. :thumb:

Go 12J if you like it. Just don't stagger them. That is for RWD cars only IMO. lol

Limp thats as helpful as a fist full of cheese!

no staggered here, as IMO it's gay!

Depends on how low you intend on running it imo, if you want it to look good and have it low, then not much really 6.5, saloon at 7J at a guess without arch work.

Measure your current clearance on those wheels and go from there. Bear in mind keeping a friendly offset will cost twice as much as its banded twice.

Stretched tyres might help out keep the tyres away from the arches.

Mark **** going banded twice, unless some one will add two bands either side??
Stretch tyres is the norm for banded IMO I was thinking 8J front back for a loon banded out wards only?

Two bands either side, well one band either side making 2 (I assume thats what you mean as well? lol) is what I mean by banding it twice, twice the work, twice the monies for it.

Go and measure the horizontal distance between your wheel rim and your arch, that will give you a starting point

Imo have them wider (like Alex J corsa gt) on the rear looks broken and silly imo, too wide and i bet the car will handle like crap as well

i would think 7.5 would be about right

also too big and you'll deffo be having too much stretch on the tyres

7j top on rear of a hatch depending on tyre and suspension unsure about saloon would reckon 8,5j on the rear

If you have one of those then I suggest stepping up your game when it comes to personal hygiene mate.

Say no to staggered FWD fitment!

There 8's front and back? if i got another set done it'd be about 7.5 on the rear and 7 on the front roughly for no rubbing. with the backs the 8's rub only on the d/s because of the offset beam, p'm me for any more info mate

another thing, on my saloon with them at 8j the rim without the tire if you jacked it up would sit on the lip flush with the arch so really you'd want a rim thats 8j-the width of the lip

That depends on the price your mate charges dude, as a lad on retro rides dose them for £45 a wheel.
So it's just and extra £60 on top to post both ways etc.

No Edd it's not just you, the idea of that is RWD look, but RWD is dished = narrow rear Axel normally.

I like the even look.

youd have to ask blinty how much he charged him mate think it depends on wheels and size aswell
