how it is at the moment (well bar the DVD player not being there anymore and the boxes being arranged differently)
Will soonish be changing to either a 42" Panasonic Plasma or 40" Samsung 8000 series (dont care it can do 3D etc), binning the sky box completely and maybe even getting rid of the Wii since the new TV will do iPlayer which is all we use the Wii for. Also want to get some floor standing speakers as the Kef 3005 speakers while gorgeous and great for films/TV they suck at making music sound good. Good job the Amp can do dual front channel speakers :)
panasonic viera 37" lcd with matching surround sound etc, skyhd/ps3 and wii

Im sure a few of you have seen mine already, i built this around 4 years ago now and yes, it is my bedroom lol Im waiting to move out to go all out on electrical stuff but at the moment im still smiling everyday i watch tv. I would recommend a projector to anybody!
The spec isnt decent by a long way, just a humax freesat (we ditched rip off sky the other year), philips surround sound (i wanted long straight speakers so these were perfect for my design), ps3 obviously and i upgraded to a optoma hd67n projector which i will be buying the 3d adaptor for it as soon as some decent 3d films come out.

I have as follows. get pics up when im home -
Samsung 42" LCD hd tv cant remember the number.
Onkyo tx-sr605 7.1ch hdmi switching amp
B&W HTM6162 centre speaker
B&W ASW610 sub
B&W 686 rear speakers on stands
B&W 683 front floor standing speekers (bi-amped)
Pioneer BDP-320 blue ray player
Xbox 360 elite (with a stupid HD player)
WD-tv liv media player/streamer with 2tb hard drive
Sky HD+
and all controlled by ONE remote
Logitec Harmony one remote which also controls my varilight IR 2-way dimer switches
Not bad in its day but amps have some better features now than when i got mine. still sounds the bees Knees and yet to here any better home setup (that isnt in a shop). like spending money on AV stuff cos it dosnt need repaired like cars.
Looks like I'm missing out by not having a good sound set up, I shall have to address this problem lol

That was an old pic Benn, this is the current amount although there is a few doubles in there and about 20 blank cases. Each gap holds 56 dvds so im guessing there's around 900 films without counting the duplicates, blanks and games on the left :)

Thanks.. Just a little more natural, real life-like i suppose -makes it a bit easier to heel-n-toe or be quick with the pedals..?

Mine are in alphabetical order aswell lol last month i took them all off to redo them! Took a good few hours.
You should get one, best thing i have ever bought and the picture quality is spot on really, obviously not as sharp as an LED tv or whatever but it's very decent and i wouldnt swap it for anything.
Alphabetical order is the only way when you have that many. we only have 500 odd but still annoying when you get an A.

I have left 3 or 4 blank cases between each letter so when i get a new one i just need to swap them over. I remembered this time to not include THE in the title, got a bit out of hand last time i put them in order Lol.
Agreed, "The" doesn't get included in ours either.

I have to disagree. I have about 500 odd DVDs and they are organised in stacks: sci-fi, comedy, action, and her pish. I find that easier to find somthing I feel like watching. To be honest i never look for A specific movie, only what i feel in the mood for eg comedy, action ect
Alphabetical really annoys me. like HMV when im looking for a new dvd and I have to start at A then to B........to find somthing i fancy.

^ what do you do about cross overs?
Ah good, i've always done it, dvds and cds it's a must. And i don't count the "the" too.
therealnovaboy
18-01-12, 11:24 PM
well if its a film like say constantine which is like sci-fi/action it goes in the stack thats between sci-fi and action eg stack between films die hard and 2001 or say spaceballs would go between the scifi and comedy stacks. if you get me.
they kind of fade into each other. it dose work out.
lol i do. But i cant be arsed with that. Have you seen "high fidelity" with John cusac...
Alphabetical for me is just ease..
therealnovaboy
18-01-12, 11:57 PM
Im never in that situation, it usually goes,
"will i stick on a dvd".
"ye"
"what do you want to watch".
"dont know".
"what do you fancy".....
"comedy".
That tends to narrow it down enough that I can actualy pick somthing.
