timing belt help!!

I've jst fitt a new timing beld to my 14se engine, I've lined the marks up and got the belt on.

Wen I turn the crank with a ratchet it turns freely most of the way round but gets a little stiff for a fraction of a turn, is this normal before I I fire it up.

Yes as that will be the compression stroke

should be normal but i would try without the spark plugs to be sure

yeah always turn it over by hand with the plugs out, it should turn over alot easier
