I want to test the compression on my C20XE before I fit it. Can anyone recommend a good compression tester? Also, anyone know what pressure should be across all cylinders to indicate a healthy engine?

Thanks

Keith

according to auto data the compression ratio should be 10,5 if that means any thing

It means almost nothing regarding a dynamic compression test.

Anything over 150 psi WOT and all within 20% of each other :)

just buy a cylinder leakage tester, it connects to an airline and will let you know if you have any issues, you need to make sure both valves are closed obviously. ive got a snap on one and i think i paid about £100 for it.

Like with a dyno its explicit accuracy isnt 'vital' since you will be doing back to back testing etc and comparing one with another.
