Opinions on engine bay colour?

I'm in the middle of stripping the bay of the mk1. The whole shell is White but was thinking on painting the bay anthracite? And leaving the upper slam panel white?

Reason for anthracite was the bumpers etc have been done in that colour and it would be a good contrast in colours with the engine?

Other option is get it redone in White?

I need some opinions because I can't decide if I want to go for it or not.

Get some photoshops done, it could look good, but choose a wrong colour, and it could look gash.

Looks kinda cool if you paint the interior and bay matching grey and the exterior in a nice colour (like BTCC cars) but do it wrong or matt black and it'll look like you couldn't afford to paint it lol

i would say engine bay same colour as the car, otherwise it gives the impression you have resprayed the car and not bothered doing the engine bay

That was my fear, looking like painting the engine bay was an after thought......

I will have to ask someone kindly to Photoshop something for me tonight when I'm on the laptop, keep an eye out for it :)

The white gsi doesnt look great with the black bay imo, red sr looks spot on :) im away to stick up a picture of my old engine bay to be shopped.

Seems like nobody can help out on a Photoshop :( on a totally different note, does anyone know what wiper motor the red sr in the pictures above is?

If you want a contrasting colour, IMO the gunmetal (metallic) like the red car in the pics is what I'd go for, much like a works prepped car.

As for it's wiper motor, they usually come from single wiper equipped cars like itroen ZX/AX or Fiat Uno's etc. Look around a scrapyard.

That's the kind of idea I had in my head Craig. As for the wiper motor I didn't think it looked like the zx/ax setup. Never seen a uno setup, might do a bit more research on it.
