Iv'e completed two of these conversions, it's easy if you have all the tools and knowledge to diy.
Spi models are more expensive due to needing aftermarket ecu to control ignition, earlier Nova dizzy models can use the std dizzy.
Expect to spend maybe 500 quid.

tom, what sort of performance would you expect though?

Well the Corsa has just been done, but only to a certain level, so id expect around 65hp?, I'm doing a proper fast road head with a cam, springs, guides etc, and the owner hopes to see 80hp. I've had a lot of 'why don't you just fit a bigger engine?', but a lot of 1200 owners don't want to change their engines, so why not tune up what you have?, after all is said and done, even 1200's can benefit from a cam, carbs and improved throttle response, and the noise of courselol

what cam and carbs do you use on the 12ST? Do you need to use a fuel pump?

R1's and I think it was an ast1? and yes, 12v low pressure pump needed.

It was scrapped before the engine ever turned over due to no one even wanting it for free lol

tom how wood you rune bike carb's on a x18xe1 cud you pm me a list of what i wood need IE management loom carb's ect

you would need to run megajolt or another similar set-up since you cant run a dizzy on that engine

you will need

low pressure fuel pump or bike pump
fuel regulator
inlet manifold to suit carbs (diy or bogg bros £200)
bike carbs preffereably with rubbers, need jetted for your engine
throttle cable
choke cable
megajolt or similar ecu
loom for ecu

you can use your existing throttle cable just cut the end of like i done and fit a solderless nipple, just use any choke cable and do the same with the solderless nipple

i got all my megajolt stuff from tom and also got tom/prey to make me up a loom to my requirements, its top notch stuff everything works as it should and the loom looks really neat

if you want megajolt tom is your man, plus he's scottish so he gets a blue peter badge from me haha

So we have Tom being a Jock sounding Englander, but then Ade who is the most English sounding Jock lol

Whats the going rate on a full megajolt setup compared to a all in Megasquirt setup?

I can swing both ways, when the situation demandslol
Trigger Wheels do the whole kit for around £300?, their 'loom' is just a bundle of connectionless wires though.

So essentially for the extra £50 you might aswell use megasquirt and do away with the nasty edith system lark :) then its also useable if the desire moves to TB's
