I'm doing a Corsa B track car but its got a sunroof. Thats coming off and replaced with a sheet of aluminium.

I want to pop rivet it into place but not sure what gun or size rivets I need because I've never used a pop rivet before.

And when drilling the holes do they need to be bigger than the rivet or roughly the same?

Aiming for something like this (ignore the carbon fiber lol):

You'll need to know the thickness of both panels you're riviting together to get the correct length pop rivits.
Also when drilling, the drill size needs to be slightly (0.1mm) bigger than the rivits. If the hole is too big the rivit wont grip as well.

Fixing a panel that size, i'd recomend you get some pin vices and hold it in place before you start riviting, just to make sure the fit is. As you eant it.

As for what pop riviter, adecent make ones aren't dear so if you going for a hand pop riviter, B&Q should be able to sort you.

you can also get coloured rivets off ebay. dont forget to seal the panel down before rivotingit. dont want any nasty leaks in the car either.
