Is there a simple way to test if your crank sensor is at fault?

Engine in question is c20xe early type

Unplug sensor connector, using a digital volt ohm meter set on ac volts position.Connect the leads to the two pins in the connector of the crank sensor. Then have a helper crank engine over. You should see ac voltage,if not, then your crank sensor is bad.

Bear in mind this will only confirm the sensor wiring is ok and that the sensor is capable of producing a signal - theres no guarantee the signal is correct. You would need an oscilloscope to truly check it was ok.
