Does anybody on here or does anyone know anyone that would be able to design me some Carriers for some 4 Pot Brakes, I have a hell of a lot of dimensions but wouldn't know where to start in actually making the designs
Cheers
Tom

bolt the disc to the hub. and place the caliper over it (preferebly with pads) then measure the offset between the radial holes in the caliper and the caliper to hub mounting face. the measurments you need will be obvious once there together on the car

unfortunately, there is no easy way. you do like joshy says, & get measuring, then talk to a friendly engineering company to get some machined.

IVe been quoted £170 to design and make them but the guy is busy for ages and i want to get the brakes on asap so im going to have a go myself

RALLY DESIGN do an off the shelf kit with 280mm discs and Wilwood Midilite calipers.

So you're wasting your money spending £170 on getting some brackets made.

In fact I have the same kit for sale on EBAY at the moment;

Rally Design dont do an off the shelf kit ive called them up and they said i would have to leave them my car to have it developed, and i have everything to fit the kit apart from the carriers

So it's not for a Nova then?

Might be best to post your question up on a forum specifically for your model of car then, just in case someone else has already done what you want to do.

No its for a Corsa C, and i would but there is no one with wilwoods on a Corsa C yet so there isnt any one i could ask, everyone else runs off the shelf hi spec kits

Only prob is their not Gm fitment discs, and they wont let you what they are for. So you have to by the discs thru them at a huge price. Unless you have a aftermarket brake book like me but even then it can be tricky..

Your carping on as if your the first person evaaaaar to fit Wilwoods to a Corsa C & breaking new ground lol lol If you can get the parts to make them fit on a Corsa B, then they'll sure as hell fit on a Corsa C aswell :thumb:

Some of the Corsa C rally cars Ive worked on have had Wilwood front brakes too. And just to add, rally cars ARE road legal too ;)

Oh, and another thing, good luck fitting them with the wide ass Meriva disc's, you'll have to remove 2mm from EACH pad, leaving about 8mm thickness on each pad behind.

Corsa B Carriers are not Compatible with Corsa C's as ive tried that already, and Meriva Discs are no problem at all they are 24mm Wide and the Calipers can take up to 25.4mm

The moutings Ive got here for my Wilwood Powerlite 4 pots for my Corsa B also fit my Corsa C :)

Yes the CALIPER might take a 24mm disc but with the pads in most, if not all Wilwoods only take upto a 21.5mm wide disc. Hence why I binned my Meriva discs off for 2 piece Wilwood UL straight vane rotors & ex works GrpA alloy bells.

Well can you take some measurements of the carriers?
And that is why Wilwood sell 2 different Midilite Calipers one to suit a 21.1mm disc and another to suit a wider 25.4mm disc

No.

On my Powerlite (one of which I have infront of me right now along with a vernier) without pads theyll take a 28mm wide disc, put the pads in an hey presto 21.5mm max on new pads. The dimensions given for disc width are qouted without pads in the caliper (see tech diagrams on Wilwood website) On mine, each pad protrudes out from the internals of the caliper by 2.33mm.

Dont know what the Midilites are like, but Id assume pretty much exactly the same, as they sure look it lol

Okay thanks for your help not

And i have the same in front of me one of my wilwood midilite calipers with 2 ebc red stuff pads in them that are brand new with the coating on and i have just taken a measurement with my vernier calipers and suprisingly enough it gives the reading of 25.4mm

Well congratulations, your right & I must be wrong.

Lesson learnt, never trust the Wilwood website lol lol

My pads are Wilwood L714's, big chunky units.

Thats why i use rally design, can you post up a pic of your carrier so i can see how it is both corsa c and corsa b fitment?

What corsa c hubs are you using? 4 stud off off a 1.0/2/4? Iirc the discs and carriers are bigger on the 1.7 diesel engine and the petrol 1.8, but they're 5 stud. Is it worth converting to 5 stud if you're on 4? :)

Standard 1.8 4 stud hubs, all the steering knuckles on Corsa C's are the same but the 1.7 CDTi have 5 stud hubs not 4 like the 1.0,1.2.1.4 and 1.8
