i think its the same as rubber it rots some and not others.
Petrol cans are plastic and they dont rot but if you put it in a milk container it will melt through.

completely off the subject but the yanks have made the first plastic manifold for race cars!
Some early Corsas have plastic inlet manifolds as well. Locky, the question is why aren't you using the proper pipe that Vauxhall fitted to the car? plumbing pipe will melt.
Coz its a 5dr, and the filler is further back, and shaped differently! iv had 2 make up my own pipe! took bloody ages!

dont vauxhall do a five door pipe then?
Yes but the filler port is in the middle of the tank pointing 2 the rear, the 3dr tank has the filler port on the side!
so u mite get the idea of my long hose n hydro fittings lol!
il show u at the next meet!

oooo i get it now
its cos u put a gte tank in cos of the inline pump................?
during the 1.6 conversion?
Yep thats rite! The fuel pump was mounted in the same place as the GTE/GSI, its just the tanks are different! it prob was the worst part of the conversion! it takes 2ice as long 2 put fuel in the car now as the pump gun keeps clicking, coz the pipe is filling up with fuel! Bit of a pain, but hey!
