Found a kit to convert the distributor to electronic ignition - before I even consider forking out the 35 quid wanted, is it worth it for my 1.0 ohv? Would take some of the headaches out of running it on my current budget before anyone cries 'put a bigger engine in it'!

Are these worth getting or a waste of money?

Just thought I'd get an opinion as I've never set timing myself and don't own a strobe lamp. And yes, I deserve all the neg repping in the world for letting Halfords rip me off like they did.

If you are serious about keeping the 1.0 then your idea would be wise as a daily imo, However i would get in touch with HH ignitions there local to me and well known in the UK for this kind of stuff just google them and give them a call

On the 1.0 it would be a good upgrade imo

Loads of people do it on the A series engine, Makes it much more usable from day to day...

why not just fit a 1200/1300?

sounds good to me, would make it more reliable, however i would personally put a 1.2spi or 1.4spi in as there just as cheap and mega on fuel.
i have recently just remove my 70k 1.4 spi engine and its up for grabs..... and i live just outside cambridge lol
