this is on my mates car, when its warm and you go to start it it misses very badly and the revs are really low and it just bogs out and stalls..... the only way you can start it is to rev it to 3k to clear it, this is obviously not good for the engine.
we have put a new EGR on it
and a new ICV
completely lost now as to what it could be? i had it on a modis and it came up with quad matrix drive which i researched and is the controll unit in the ecu that does the EGR/SAI and everything....
can anyone help?

have you tried flashing the fault codes?
you can do it with a paperclip...
basically, if its the 16prong one, bridge 5 and 6 with a clip then turn your ignition on... eml light will flash a code

also my 16xe ran like described when danny s p kindly snapped the temp sensor in the side of the thermostat housing, rough as a badgers backside

thermostat should be at the front above the drivers side mount area (left looking in the bay)

dunno about quard matrix though sorry
