What's the verdict on these yokes. Quite like them and have taken a notion for one.

My sister had one (facelift) and it was faultless really for around 3 years, was a really nice clean car too. Then decided to break. A lot. So she stripped it to peices.

Brother has one ( a loon facelift )
X25XE with factory mods meaning around 200 bhp iirc, seams to take heavy abuse very well, BUT his water pump seized after sitting for 6 months, and doing a timing belt looks fun lol

Pretty sure Paul told me the F23 can get a bit weak on the synchros after long track day type use, buying parts new from vauxhall ain't much fun, they won't/ can't sell you a spring or shock instead they want you to buy the full setup

Timing belts easy loads of room just like doing an xe but with 2 extra cams

I had one was fine but thirsty put LPG on it and was great, broke it recently tho got just over £500 for the parts and I still have the engine wheels and LPG kit, mine was also phase 2

I bought the cam belt lock tools, do I need the crank to lock or just mark it?

I marked it and used 2 sets of molies to hold the pullies no expensive tools required

I got the lock tools for £10 so no expence needed lol, if I get stuck I'll give you a shout :)

It's straight forward done a few did spuds for him when he had the estate

The only other problems on his were a leaky fuel tank ( rusty ) corroded brake lines just the usuall for an older motor,

If it's not been done already it's worth modding the cam cover to come off without having to remove the aux belt tensioner it's a pain in the ass trying to get the bolts back it so if it has to come off again it's a piece of piss then

Do it, and stick for facelift headlights in, cheap/easy to do and make a hell of a difference.

'98 with 130k, full history, mot and tax, lots of new bit fitted recently including replacement tank. £1,100 is what it cost me. Was that ok?

Had one too, loved it too much! Was a thirsty buggar though. If I could find one with the same mods, and in the same condition mine was when it was sold, I'd have another any day!

Well I bought the yoke and on the way home the idler on the alternator belt started making a screeching noise. Fun starts now lol. Love the thing though. Funny thing is I would say that a 2.2 Sri vectra b or c would have a brave go at it.

Wouldn't quite make your testicles quiver with the noise though, would they? =)
