pm c612dnm, he knows a lot about this subject,

i believe the 4-2-1 gives better midrange, & the 4-1 more top end.

dont whatever you do get a 4.1 if your lowered in the slightest

jamex 60mm shocks and spring on a corsa sport and a 4.1 gave me 13-14mm ground clearance without anybody in the car and not much petrol in haha

on another note il be replacing it with a 4.2.1 and selling it soon haha

edit - also think you get a bit of back pressure with a 4.2.1

On a road going car you primarily want a 4-2-1 it has the best of all areas really and won't create problems with low end torque.

The 4-1 makes a noticeable difference on tuned engines by moving the power right up into the powerband but sacrifice low end torque. Also dependent on manifolds they do sit rather low to the floor.

The 4-1 on the Mrs C16 nova does sit awfully low and under extremely heavy braking and uneven surfaces has even scraped.

I have a 4-2-1 on my C16XE which results in loads of midrange torque but doesnt drop off at the top end either
