Anybody that could give me some advice on a camera to buy,i'm a complete novice with photography,i use a £75 panasonic fm18 digital camera, love taking photos but feel it's time to upgrade,if this helps here is a few photos i've taken...do i really need an expensive camera? I will never be a professional but would like to take it a level up :)

after deciding i wanted a better camera than my digital one i went out and brought a cannon eos 600 d, with only knowing the very basics it was still very easy to learn the basic controls and work from there. I also brought it from jessops that take tesco clubcard vouchers which is useful. i'll upload some pictures later that i've taken baring in mind i've only had it for a couple of weeks, if you need to know anything specific just ask

I'm really tempted to get a decent dslr as there's only so much messing with settings my compact will allow ..... Jessops' 0% finance makes spending £500 on a camera even more tempting!
If you want to learn photography, get a 35mm and learn about aperture, exposure, focal length, film speed etc then go on to a digital camera that has suitable manual controls.
Whats your budget?
I bought a Sony Alpha A390 from Jessops in October, I still don't know how to use everything to its maximum yet after reading numerous ammount of books and mags. But it's all a learning curve.

Budget i'm open minded with if i'm honest,i will never be a professional so id like soemthing to suit me taking decent photos without spending overkill.
More photographers on here than people that like nova's...

sometimes its not the camera that does the trick, its the type of lens, aperture, exposure and focus obviously play a big part but its not always how many megapixel you have, its the lens that does the main job

Some un edited shots from the day i got the camera... Using a 70-300 lense and uv filter
