Any one got some positive comments.........

What a load of crap answers lol Not everyone knows everything there is to know about Novas!

GSi is the later shape of the Nova and the largest engine that came out of the factory. If it's not too rusty and quite original it's well worth going for if you're after a Nova, but as Mowgli says there's loads of GSi replicas so check it's a real one.

You can buy strut tops off the shelf tho, won't it say GSi on the logbook?

mowgli

things like fuel pump & proper lines, correct trim etc.

Okay, so the forum decided the most powerfull best looking nova ever made is pish?

Vauxhall evolved this car since 1984 and ended with a car that could come 4th overall on the 1992 Manx international rally behind 2 subaru impreza's and a cosworth sierra and ahead of many other higher powered cosworth cars?

Jack
02-01-12, 08:35 PM
Top of the range model; better trim, sportier bumpers, 100bhp 1.6, etc.

Check insurance, as being the 'most powerful' factory model (thats a bit like saying you're the tallest of the 7 dwarfs lol) it'll be expensive.

Easiest way to tell a very very good rep from an original is...... GSi door seals are black on internal AND external side. Non GSi seals are black & grey.

Not many people, if any at all, A) know that fact and 2) would even swap them over/source GSi spec items.

Andy
02-01-12, 08:36 PM
The thing is,is that many for sale are listed as Gsi's, even on here.and theyre not at all.So if your not clued up,your wading through a potential shi7swamp

you know bloody well that the gsi nova that did that had more to do with a crazy genius driver & some rather good competition prep worth than vauxhalls input...

All GSi's will have a tilt/slide sunroof as well, not many replicas do.

I have never seen a real GSi without a sunroof, just a few very early GTE's so I agree with Bazil's theory.

if its a choice yeah i love the gsi's but for me i would have to go for a mk1 sr or gte, mk2's seem to rot alot more, make sure its a real gsi even if its just type the number plate in on an insurance company, other than that lovley cars im just not a fan of the mk2 front or rear end thats all love the gsi dash ect though lol

lol, it'll also show a certain sport is genuine when many know it's a ringer, unlike any other novas the GTE and GSI has 1 or 2 differences in the shell that can show that's it's a genuine car.
