I recently purchased a dellorto 40 set-up for a c20seh nova I have, it's currently on injection but I've had problems trying to get it running so decided to bin it off.

It came with the carbs, throttle linkage, manifold, dizzy, leads and coil.

I have a couple of issues/questions...

1) What's the easiest way to mount the dizzy to the cam carrier? The original one had the rotor arm hard mounted to the cam and the dizzy cap mounted to the cam carrier.

2) The set-up didn't come with a harness... Does anyone know what vehicle I can borrow a harness off? These are the connectors:

3) Is it ok to use an Astra 1.4 dizzy, coil and amp? All I have is what's written on it...

All help appreciated, want to get this car on the road when I get it to the house so trying to source everything now.

Cheers
Chris

have you tried to undo the rotor arm bud and have a look then, you can use the coil from a 1.4 bu the spark may be a it weak ifit is ger an uprated one from a cav or astra xe

I've managed to fit the dizzy, but I have no way at the min of securing it in a timed position. See pics 2,3 and 4.

you appear to have a later type dizzy off a small block mpi/spi they usually have a fork shaped clamp onto an m8 stud that sticks out of the head casting.

being from a small block will it not be sprking at the wrong time though mowgli as a small block has a shorter stroke? and as mowgli said a fork type clamp is usualy used bud um im sure you can make your own harnes as im sure you just have constant live ignition live and earth same for the coil, the forth one on the coil would be rev counter

the sparking will be the same whether or not its a big or small block, the firing order is still the same..

ah i thought as its driven from the cam it will be firing at say 3/4 of a stroke if you get me

Mowgli, my old GTE used to have the clamp fork so you could allow rotation for timing, but I have no idea if the holes on the c20seh cam carrier are the same!?

Shed-on-wheels, as said firing order wont be any different from small to big block, 1-3-4-2. And as for rotation and timing being out, the crank still rotates the cam and the cam rotates the dizzy. The ratios are the same. My question was, is the 1.4 astra dizzy suitable for using on a c20seh?

chimp, as long as you can get it to clamp up in the right place, it'll work.

as mowgli said then if all i have said is fine then it will work if clamped in the right place bud.....have you thought about the looms yet bud

um try a cav 1.6 loom or mk2 astra 1.4/1.6 aslongas the dizzy has the same plugs it should work fine bud

I have a H&H ignotion set-up on my c20xe on carbs, and that has a completely different plug on the amp.
