Basically me and the parent are having a good rant about insurance claims, and i would like to know the answer to this question.

If someone crashes into my nova with insurance but undeclared mods (technically invalid insurance) would i still get paid out?

I doubt it, as all motor insurance assors (sp) will try there hardest and use any excuse possible to get out of paying out, thats the nature of the game in this country unfortunatly, thats why they send there agents to big car shows to take note of who has invalid insurance, they'll keep taking your monthly payments but won't pay out once assessed

Or does that translate to-"im planning on not declaring mods on my nova. Will i be bumshafted if i hit somebody"??????

Probably means somethin like that but I know I was guilty of it when I had just passed my test, didn't give it a second though tbh, was more interested in if my speedlines were clean?

I'm sure the insurance company would either withdraw cover to the other person but still provide third party cover, or you'd claim on the uninsured drivers fund thing

i know of someone who crashed there fully spec'd up 106 on a motorway, coilovers engine conversion e.t.c... was only insured as standard and he got payed out for his car although the insurance company reduced the amount they gave him

i'm only being hyupothetical here, but if someone crashes into you, and its their fault, you claim against their insurance, but they will only repair it to factory standard

As above. back in the day (when i was a new driver) someone pulled out on me and wrote my civic off. It had brand new 17's on but as they weren't declared i only got standard civic money back. so was out of pocket the 700 quid i payed for the alloys. Iirc my insurance did get a bit funny about paying that out but let it go as they were claiming off the other party.

Just easier to declare everything imo, at least you know your **** is covered. and take alloys for instance, only costs a couple of quid per month to insure.

Even when you do declare as I do they send out the forms to sign and they'll always try something. They'll miss a mod off or a fav with me is they'll put me down as a smoker or similar. You miss the small detail and claim they sack you off.....

Yeah i have, few people have a inlet or the carb alone not the whole setup..
I want to keep them but the money could go to other things. whats the 1.2 like for poke on standard carb?

If you have undeclared mods and hit someone, they will get their full and just payout for all eventualities but you may be refused cover and or have the costs reclaimed by your insurer.

If someone with undeclared mods hits you, then you get your payout and the other party gets the due raping
