Wide Ratio (the 'W' in the Code)
Final Drive 4.18
This of course assumes that the innards haven't been tinkered with previously.......

Guessing it is an SR box, 5spd wide ratios with a 4.18 final drive
To my knowledge CR F10's were never fitted to Nova's, not sure if they even exist
Only CR box was the F13 fitted to the GTE/GSi

Thanks Colin, I did wonder whether it was something as simple as that.
I don't think it's been apart, as I have a huge folder of history, so I'm fairly certain that it's previous owners wouldn't have been the serious modding sort.

Is 4.18 the lowest final drive for an F10? I seem to be under the impression it is and that they are sought after? or am i imagining that?
its semi sought after.... not mega money as they are still commonly found. 4.29's and 4.53's are where its at if you can buy for less than £50 thens ell for £100 (much more than that and you might aswell buy a new one lol )
I once picked up a 1.4sr engine and box and it had a cr cluster in, it all looked std too ie never been apart.
I think the 4.29 and 4.53 diffs often go for a lot more than 100 quid, sometimes 250, you can also get them new from vauxhall for abt 300 (well last time I checked)
iirc new was £250, and fools on ebay pay £300 for them 2nd hand lol

That's what I'm hoping, I have a 4.5 here in a Corsa road rally car.......

the 4.3 and 4.5 are perfect diffs for oval racing and with a chance of winning prize money equating to about £100 a meeting that £300 can be a wise investment especially when there`s over 30 meetings in a season. there hard to find now same goes for the cr 2.21 second gear they can sell for 300+

Brief hijack here, but isn't the 4 speed box (usually found on things like a merit) a CR box? I know the ratios are different to that of a 5 speed box....

f10 were 4 speed nd 5speed bud the f10 4speed would be like in the merit and star ect as the 5speed would be in the sr
4sp and 5sp are the same ratio, but they have a 5th gear.
There are also some rare 4sp clusters found in mk1 Astra's and the like which can sell for 250-600 quid......
