View Full Version : fitting a vx inlet to a 16xe

people who have done this, how the hell do you get the big plastic pipe out behind the lower inlet. iv butchered it!
iv looked and it doesn't seem screwed in anywhere, wobbles freely but there just isnt enough space to get it out :wtf:

I took a hacksaw to my first one and removed it in bits lol

On a second one i managed to get it out from under the engine bay

tried both mate, cut a fair bit off the air box side with cutters, drilled various areas, pulled from all angles.... still not budging

There is a bolt hidden down the back somewere that it will pivot on, also thers a spair air cylinder that goes down the back. If you can manage to break that off micht slide out.

iv heard its screwed in somewhere but i really cant see were and it doesn't feel like it is, and yes, guna try get in from underneath with the juniour hacksaw

got a good chunk off from underneath but iv snapped my £1.50 hacksaw :(

on the back of the lower inlet part theres a single bolt that goes through a small plastic lug on the pipe,undo that bolt ,then the pipe can be removed :)
