excessive seat movement

im just putting my cleaned up mk2 nova gsi front seats in & ive found that they have excessive play on the rear guide sliders where they slot in to the channels ,am i missing somthing out ? or are they usually like that :roll:

i know it sounds stupid but have you checked everything is tight?

yep all is tightened up ,front bolts in ,wiggled the seat & th rear bottom runners have play in the rear channels

I have had this before and it was because the plastic seat rail covers were not fitted (they clip to seat runner housing on bodyshell)

ahhh :) cheers .ive got them to put in ,3 out of the 4 are unbroken too :)

yeah it will be the plastic covers, i broke mine removing them and they actually failed the mot on then ages ago because of the movement
