Asda is a sh!thole anyway, no loss there. I always park as far away as possible in the quietest part of a carpark anyway so some muppet does not swing their door open on mine.

^exactly! I could park on my own the furthest away with the whole car park empty for many rows but some nutter comes and parks next to me. Why's that? What... Does it mean if a thief wants to break in there is now a 50% less chance that they'll break into theirs because two cars are next to each other? Funkers!

Back on topic... dunno how the parking attendant will know what car is what banding, and furthermore even if they had a device which can look up the car model to show it some cars don't show engine size therefore there's no way. Unless they have a reg plate read that does all the work for them.

Technically speaking cars with higher co2 level should park closer to the supermarket as driving around for longer means more pollution. So the smaller more 'green' car can park the furthest away lol

Brilliant. I'd park my GT4 under the sign every time I went there lol

...or the cav, and give the exhaust a good clean out lol

Why not just make a sign staying "smug *******s park here" and be done with it?

What next? "Only cars made after 2004" or something?

They have been doing that in Sheffield for ages but tbf there are only about 6 places reserved for low emissions

Not read it,but i would treat it with the utter contempt it deserves.
Other than disabled and parent and child,i park where the balls i like,if im spending money in there.

I see it as a great incentive, people are probably rushing out in their thousands to buy a hybrid now they can get to the front of Asda's car park.

hybrids are all a big con anyway, what with the battery manufacturing process and all that jazz

Aye, I suspect if those genuinely interested in doing their 'bit' actually read and understood the process for even just the batteries the whole hybrid/electric car market would collapse entirely.

Personally I think most who have a Prius do it to make a statement other than an environmental one ;)

Electric is unfortunately the future it seems, because electricity just comes out of the plug for free.

lol

The big irony is that if we'd invested in Nuclear power, electric cars would have a viable future. Never mind solving the power shortage we're about to be/are having.

Well there building more coal powerstations due to gas not being a viable option, there's one due to bebuilt near us right next to one of the few mines that are still open in the uk, how long before mines start reopening, the new powerstation is classed as green as instead of releasing co2 it will pump in into another disused pit near by, oh and guess what it's owned by a Russian company so all profits going abroad privatisation was such a mistake we have no control now over energy prices

Anway rant over lol

maybe its me, but when my car is parked in our local asda, it produces no emissions at all... its only when i drive around that it does....

i miss my old L200, cos i could park right outside the door at t'morrisons in the pickup zone..
