could this be the start of rallying for the people again? high power, rwd cars that cost a fraction of a wrc car....but should be spectacular on the stages.

i am staggered that the rally gb received zero media coverage in the uk this year, even autosport didn't have much on it.....yet we are supposed to be rally mad in britain.. maybe next years move to northern england will help... maybe its the crap media deals that have been done, but 2/3 of the current cars are prepared & run from england, and they aren't even publicizing them enough.

Only ****reon and ford are in it tho, not exactly exciting

so you've not noticed those large mini shaped things that prodrive make???

Not havnt watched it for about 2 years tbh lol I prefer F1 really

I used to follow it quite closely, but as you say crap media coverage plus loads of manufacturers dropping out has made it boring imo

edd, just decent coverage and 2 competitive drivers is enough

you're just thinking of the overtime, mike, just imagine what a tree will do to a cf car

An exige rgt is still gonna be a £100k package + running costs.... Not quite Everyman lol

mowgli

everyman was more about the spectators

the £100k is a load less than an s2000 let alone a wrc..

tbh a historic porsche 911 is probably more than £100k

To bloody right lol And I get to visit a lot of the places that build them :) Overtime will do me fine, finally be able to get on housing ladder!

Re: Carbon Car, somehow, and god knows how, the Noble M600 passed NCAP lol lol

Carbon is actually fantastic in a crash, precisely because it explodes everywhere, it soaks up so much energy that there's not a whole lot left to pass on to the crash structures/driver. Kinda halfway between solid steel being awful because you'd stop dead and suffer infinite G forces, and sponge being useless because you splat yourself around a tree lol

New GT class looks perfect imo, there's plenty of clubman/gentleman racers in GT, so it's not like it's unaffordable to privateers that will boost numbers on the stages.

I dont see the actual crash testing done (mores the pity :( ) but Ive seen some of the aftermath lol lol Awesome stuff!

i'd imagine cf or alloy chassis road cars will have a bolt on crumple structure either end, but they will be useless at 100mph into a tree

Bubba

i think any car 100mph into a tree would be pretty useless :p

True true. On both accounts. And with a nose section for example, being £18k, even a slight prang gets very expensive!

There was an accident with a Koenigsegg by a TV presenter a while ago iirc, that really hurt Aviva as it was cheaper to repair at something like 600k lol

Of all people, they trust me (FLOL!) with ludicrously expensive machines like this lol lol

Cant say I can find much wrong with it, it's like a modern NSX kinda shape.

i find most mid engined super cars are ugly......including some of the established car mfrs products
