Nova GSi Idle question

Hi,

I've recently bought a 'K' reg Nova GSi,
if I rev it from idle to anything over 3500rpm, then let it drop to idle,
the engine revs don't stop at 950rpm, they drop lower & the engine switches off, is this a engine fault ? If so, what should I do ?

This happends regardless of whether the engine is hot/cold
& if it's in idle or in 1st gear.

Take it you have checked the idle control?

Another thing that could be (i had very similar problem)... One of the vacum hoses could have got dislodged.

Have a good look around the engine bay and look for any sensors not plugged in, any wires hanging loose or any hoses off.
