Hi all..

Ive got MBE management to run cabs on my XE... However ive not had it set up before and wondering if anyone can help as it doesnt have any instructions & i cant find anything online.. Ive emailed SBD and MBE to which i have had no reply..

It looks like it works off the crank sensor, and then has another 4 pin plug out to a coil pack or my coil amp & dizzy set up... (not sure which set up it needs to be)... Then there is a round plug which i can only assume is for Pos, Neg, Revs & a switched live or something...

I have tried to remove the case to trace the wires, however its all covered in some waterproof black glue stuff,... a bit like PU glue...

Im just trying to work out what goes where... all i know for sure is the 3 pin plug is for the crank, and the 4 pin for whichever spark set up i need (no idea which, coil or dizzy)... Then which wire does what in the round connector... Nightmare :(

The round one will be the throttle position sensor, the other two, one will be the coil and the other is crank sensor. There should be a 12volt in, earth wire and a lead to conect to a laptop somewhere, also you will need a loom to conect the ECU to the engine area. It will need programing to your engine ect so some software to conect to a laptop
It looks very old and may not be useable havent seen one like that ever

You will need a coil pack to run it- probably the Ford one that SBD sells

This is really stretching my old man memory but I had this or similar about 10 years ago. It ran crank sensor and standard dizzy coil set up the round plug was I think your lives neg(earth) etc.

Do what I did and ring them they can advise you and get a plug for the other side of the round plug. All it is for is to sort the advance/timing when running carbs as "back in day" we used to use old cav dizzy with vac advance and it wasn't very good....

Sorry if I'm not much help but it was a long long long time ago....

THink this was done prior to programming.. think its an old school unit that just makes a spark lol.. looks pre-war lol :)
