well in the new year ill have a nice sum of money for once ! and have been thinking off doing a project from the ground up at the moment my good mate novatross is building his cosworth nova and you all know of austins skills so have been thinking
1 rear ended classic impreza ( i love the noise and power ) + a mint nova shell = 300bhp 4wd nova ?
has it been done or is it a really stupid idea and shall i get back in my box ?

Impreza Nova has been done - or at least WIP pictures have been posted somewhere on this forum
I'm sure someone will post the link soon :)
If you've got the skills, time and money - why not..
I don't like Imprezas but I'd rather it was left as an Impreza lol
Was the other one finished?

its been done, twice i think, i asked about it about a year ago when helping mate fix his scooby, had all the running gear and another lump spare even measured up, there was a link to the one that was done and im sure there was a video to prove it, i know its been done to escorts and golfs (videos on youtube)

or people should just stop chopping up good motors ?? imo if you want a scooby/evo/cosworth just buy one and bloody drive it !!
If everyone followed that chain of thought most of the red top (chortle) nova owners would be be driving calibra's... (just been sick in my mouth)

i said GOOD motors ;) lol
Oh, when you said good motors i thought you were referring to the nova's not the donors lol
wernt one finished over on passion ford? red nova?
There is nothing wrong with trying to stick an enormous engine & drivetrain into a nova, it just takes a lot of time & hard work....

I take my hat off to anyone who has the skills to do such conversions...BUT no matter how good the fabrication work is, the extra performance usually ends up hampered by relatively poor handling due to the fact that everything is guesswork and putting extra drivetrain and engines where they arnt designed to be will always have its restrictions and limitations.
Each to their own though so good luck if you go ahead with it :thumb:

Yeah, the chassis and engine would go shooting off down the road, leaving the bodyshell behind lol
Antilag could be fitted to a LET, no need to use Impreza gear for that
when will someone build a rear engined 4x4 nova (group b style)?? there is enough room in the back for a big engine..

Well I can't afford a let so there gay

Well go be gay on the street corner and save up for a let lol
Well I can't afford a let so there gay
But you could afford to buy a turbo Impreza with a good engine then cut said car up and fit it to a Nova and then fit anti lag?
.....and then keep replacing the turbo every few thousand miles after the anti lag keeps blowing it to pieces? lol

there is an rs4 nova with engine in the back, and im sure there's a corsa evo not sure if there 4wd
^^^ seen the vids on utube off the rs4 nova
i'm on about turning a 4x4 frontera transmission round so you could fit a proper gm engine in the back, then drive all 4 wheels... ok, it'd need to get artistic with the diffs, but carlton irs ones might work.... it would also look pretty cool

seen it done to swifts and minis, mini was full justy floor/4x4 job, and im sure uses impreza diff, and something off T5, plenty of vids on net allan mcdonald mini justy or mini 4x4 turbo, cant say iv seen it done with a vaux, or how things would line up and attach and justy 4x4 are dirt cheap.
This place gets better every year lol lol lol
Spend £700~1500 on a salvage impreza, spend years & thousands of $$$ building up a 4wd Nova.......
Or............
Spend £4k on a perfectly straight jump in an drive Evo3~4.
Im all for chopping up shÃ*tters etc but I know what Id put my money on. My friend is building a Impreza powered 4wd Civic from an Impreza he crashed. From the word go he wishes he'd never started said project.
