Towing cars?

Whats the safest and reasonably priced method of towing lets say Nova if you've got a saloon (vectra/monde/406 etc) with tow bar?

Is it possible to get one of them AA style ones with little wheels or is there other solutions?

Towing a nova with a nova isn't allowed is it?

If all is legal and above board then I'd use a straight bar, machine mart sell one,

If your using a vectra saloon or similar and the towed car is t+t and insured its all good

What if the car towed is not insured or doesn't have t&t?

And straight bar isn't very safe for long distances is it?

Straight bar is the only thing you can tow a car with on the motorway, and for towed cars, if any wheels on either axle touch the ground it must be legal, unless for recovery only ( ie you must be a recovery truck )

Then it must be trailered, also check if you are legally allowed to tow a trailer, iirc (people who passed after 2000?) can only tow 750kg

for someone with a standard licence (post 1997) the towing car must have a high enough towing capacity, & the total weight of towing car, trailer & nova must not exceed 3500kg

I have a small trailer for sale, perfect for a nova! Has a payload of 1200kg and if passed test post 1997 will be completely legal with the list of family saloons you mentioned. It is in the for sale area.

as mowgli said the tow car must have the correct towing weight and the trailer being towed plus load must not exceed the unladened weight of the towing car. the train weight is also not allowed to exceed 3500kg. i have had alot of arguements about this and ended up ringing the govning body over it all when i was looking into buy a caravan
