View Full Version : Blanking unused pipework... What're they called?

Struggling to find these, been looking for days...

I will have some unused breather connections that need blanking off, 13mm ID. Instead of an inch of pipe and a bolt, I'm after a neat solution, like these: http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/Rubber_Round_End_Caps_Value_Pack_ECPAK

However they aren't in the required size and I can't find any on eBay etc...

Suggestons?

Can even get fancy Forge ones.

Still requires a bit of pipework tho doesn't it?

I have some metal male parts on the TB and oil catch tank that I want to blank without having hose and something stuffed in it, like an inch of hose with the end closed up.

If u are doing it for neat ness why no just run a longer bit of pipe and hide it so it looks functional and not just like a useless pipe

How big are the holes mate

13mm or so

svlet I think it'd look neater having no pipework than a random stretch of pipe that goes to nowhere eventually, and a lot more maintainable.

Why not just have them welded up?

Could you cut a thread inside them and put in an Allen key bolt

Just another option

I see.

I agree with the above suggestions of tapping/bonding a blanking plug in, or even better having them welded up.

Looks good Mowgli, found these on the same site too:

Welding it up could potentially be an option but I fancy cheap, cheerful and reversible.

id tapp a thread inside bud and get a nice shiney allen bolt or torx with a smear of grease or gasket sealer

at my work we use these end cap things that we put over the end of pipes and use a small blow torch which shrinks the cap and is a nice tight fit and can easily be cut off i can get you some if you wannt try them
