right im doing my engine change NOW and need a bit of help. its a e16se into a 1.4spi nova.

got a few questions:

on the fuel rail which one is input and which is return, am i right in thinking the return comes off the fuel pressure reg??

and also where do i wire the fuel pump wire to (red/blue) should i put it directly onto one on my old relay?

and where does this pipe go?

Sorry can't help on the pipe unless its to the rocker cover...?!!

Wire your pump into a relay if you can, or any switched live as a temporary fix

should be a fuel pump relay in the engine loom ( is that not it in the pic) if so straight to the pump matey

Is that pipe one of the water pipes to the heater matrix? Smelling the inside of the pipe can usually determine what should flow through it lol...

Nah mate its just a breather off the inlet I think. Dunno where it goes tho. Also what goes on this.....

The random pipe in your first post goes to this IIRC.

okay so i have found out brown and white is the eml, and blue the temp sensor for the clocks. now i need some help wiring up the pump.... i have cut the multiplug off, and now it has a perm live ign live, but where do i connect the blue/red pump wire to, and when i put the ign on its not live when i thought it should be.

The E16SE loom has (should have) the pump relay plugged into it for you to take a 12v pump supply from.

That is the idle control valve in your picture above, which routes inlet air around the throttle body (bypassing it). So check this by how you have the ICV pipes plumbed in. That wiring aint pretty.

He called me and he's got it running :thumb: but its cutting out when it warms up or reaches temperature, then will not start untill cooled down.
Top marks curt for cracking on, not long now :)

yeah my fuel relay was duff. so i put another one on, and it cut out when it got warm. i think it was because i was only using my looms temp sensor (single spade type at back of engine) so i spliced it into the e16se sensor plug. seems to have solved the cutting out issue. just ran it up to temp and the fan cut in all well and good :)
only problem now is my rpm gauge doesnt work and it idles abit funny and misfires alot. i think i have the wrong hoses going to the icv? can anyone get me any pictures of it?

that icv pipe on yours needs threading under the manifold... there should not be any pipes sticking up over the throttle body.

This^

Also, to mount the AMF make a simple (but heavy duty) L shaped bracket. On the side of the AFM theres a hole with an 8mm thread, bolt bracket there & then bolt down to inner wing panel.
